Guide to actually enjoying this holiday season.

November 15, 2017

The holiday season is a fast-paced whirlwind even for those that aren't trying to balance an amazing business and attempting to stay full of gratitude, healthy, and happy.

Before the shiz hits the fan, we can prepare for the holiday season 2017 just like we prepare for any other challenge; with mindfulness, meaning, and purpose.

That is something we can do together! So take some dedicated time, in an undistracted space. Have something to write on, and let's dig in.

Know how you want to feel.

We really must begin with the end in mind. Take a breath and imagine the perfect holiday season. What do you smell? What do you hear? What do you see? How do you feel? Write those feeling down.

Know why you want to feel that way.

This is the most important, yet sometimes most challenging part of making a strong plan of action. If you find this part difficult-dig in and do it anyway. Trust me. Consider the following:

Why is feeling that way important? How will experiencing those feelings this holiday season make an impact on you, your business, your family. When you experience that feeling, what changes? Imagine you already feel that way, what is now possible/available to you that wasn't before. Write these ideas down.

Know what makes you feel that way.

Now that you know how you want to feel and why you want to feel it,  write down what actions you can take to invoke those feelings. Maybe it's a family game night, or cooking a certain meal. Maybe it's calling your best friend or taking time to create something beautiful. Maybe it's singing, or perhaps it's reading a book by the fireplace. Whatever it is that makes you feel the way you want to feel this season. Write that down.

Know what it takes to make it happen.

This is where your seasoned goal-setting skills kick in. If you want a quiet night to ready a book by the fire, what will it take to make that happen? Do you need your partner to take the kids for a night? Do you need to get your newsletter done a day early to clear your schedule? Be SUPER honest about what it will take for you to make it really happen. Write those down.

Make it happen.

Write it in your planner, schedule it on your phone. Schedule each action necessary to bring you closer to a holiday season you'll actually enjoy. When will you do these things? Tell someone! Get help keeping yourself accountable.

Now it might feel like you are adding yet another thing to your already packed to-do list. But on the contrary, when it is scheduled it can be out of your brain. You can rest and enjoy knowing you are making time to truly enjoy this holiday season.

Celebrate.

You are taking actionable steps to making the life experience you desire a reality!

Wanting more this holiday season?

With only 5.5 weeks until Christmas I've been noticing that people are already starting to feel the time crunch, and battling the reality that another year has flown by.

As a result, I have teamed up with a group of amazing, like-minded women to create a unique 28-day experience focused especially on nutrition, meditation, self-care and movement that can be integrated into your holiday lifestyle. No sense in waiting until after the new year to focus on being your best you. Whose New Year's Resolutions actually pan out anyway?! 😆 Maybe yours do, and if so, I want to learn from you.

I'm getting together a team of people together who want to feel supported, purposeful, confident, and glowing leading up to Christmas. I know we work best in teams, free to support each other and cheer each other toward their goals. Do you know anyone who wants to have a more relaxed and purposeful Holiday season? Contact me!
